Do you care what people think of what you or other people wear at school?
I've never been bothered about designer or "popular" brands of clothes (Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch etc). I mean, yeah, I'll admit I bought one Hollister shirt, and it was nice to wear and it was comfy, but I don't make a thing about buying popular clothes that girls my age wear.In my opinion, if the clothes are clean and cover you, then they're good. However, my friend Roberta, is one of these designer freaks (sorry Roberta!) and whenever she sees girls in our grade walking along with clothes that aren't colour co-ordinated, or clothes that she thinks don't suit them, she has a really big moan about it, saying they look "awful" and she "can't understand why they would embarrass themselves wearing such clothes". (One example was last Thursday, when this girl called Michela was wearing a knitted monkey bobble hat and a long, brown and pink patchwork trench coat, even though it was like, 30 degrees). Roberta also thinks that if girls come in wearing oversized, ripped up jeans and a tiny cami, that they look "scummy" and "chavvy". However, some girls in our area live in the really "upmarket" areas in our town and still wear that kind of thing. So,what I'm asking is, do you have the same opinion as Roberta? Do you judge people by what they wear or how they wear their clothes? Personally, I think a person's choice of clothing defines them and allows them to express themselves as a person. Nobody else should care about it. :)
